
More than 40 companies interested in doing business or expanding their operations in the region, and that are part of the Council for the Americas of Alberta (CCA), Canada, participated in the virtual conference “Panama, an attractive destination for Canadian investments”, where authorities from the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (Mici) provided information on the opportunities offered by the country.
Investors from both Canada and anywhere in the world will be able to find various competitive advantages in Panama, including its logistics hub, financial services, incentives for its special regimes and legal stability, said the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade of Panama in his speech. Meanwhile, Jeannette Díaz Granados, General Director of Multinational Companies Headquarters (SEM), expanded on the attributes of the SEM regime and the regime for the establishment and operation of multinationals for services related to manufacturing (Emma), as well as the mechanisms to apply to both licenses.
The event organized by the General Directorate of Marketing of Attraction of Investments of the Mici and the Council for the Americas of Alberta, also had the participation of the president and executive director of the organization, Miguel Cortines; Damarys Zampini, and Melesia Kasha, director and advisor of the CCA, respectively.
The Council for the Americas is the preeminent link between Alberta-based companies and the markets of Latin America and the Caribbean, through a variety of informational events, helping to forge business relationships between the parties.
